Innova Mercy offers a diverse range of therapies to help teens heal from their trauma and pain in whatever way that suits their individual needs best. We want them to be stronger than ever as they regain control of their lives.
We fully understand that no two teens will have the same needs but our therapies can help them heal from their trauma in ways that will work best for them. For example, a teen can go through DBT or CBT for anxiety or be put in a music therapy for trauma group. The ultimate goal for all our therapies is to help teens understand and manage their symptoms to help them heal and grow.
EMDR is a non-verbal therapy that helps teens engage their amygdala and frontal lobe to help process trauma and develop effective coping skills.
DBT is a form of CBT that focuses on teaching teens how to manage their emotions, how to accept painful feelings and make changes to find balance.
CBT is a proven ‘talk therapy’ that can help treat conditions found in teens as well as change negative thinking that hurts their core beliefs.
ACT is an action-based method that encourages teens to accept their inner feelings, struggles, and their desire to change how they think and act.
Art Therapy for teens is a great healing method. It uses art to help teens who are experiencing certain things like PTSD, addiction, and anxiety.
Play Therapy can help teens understand and settle emotional and behavioral issues. It can also be used to develop their communication skills.
Music is known to have a powerful effect on emotions. With the right song, music therapy for trauma can create a safe place for teens to heal.
Shame Resilience will assist teens in processing shame and guilt so they can later build themselves up into better, stronger, and confident teens.
Family Therapy will help a family understand what their teen (or teens) are going through. This can help lower stress and improve family connections.
Identity Formation will help teens give a better understanding of themselves and their self-worth. Great for teens who suffer from low self-esteem.
Seeking Safety is an excellent therapy for teens that we offer at Innova Mercy. This can be used to address issues such as coping with the pains of past traumas, the persistent symptoms of PTSD, or substance use.
CPT can heal teens of trauma-related symptoms, improve how they see the world and themselves and put a stop to crippling thoughts and feelings.
Seeking Safety is a program designed to help teens who are suffering from substance abuse due to certain conditions like trauma, anxiety, and PTSD.
Interpersonal Effectiveness is designed to help teens who suffer from unstable emotional states by teaching relationship and communication skills.
It is less about choosing the best and more about finding the most suitable one for your teen. Because every teen has unique experiences, struggles, and traumas, choosing the ‘best’ therapy won’t be viable.
For example, most therapies can treat trauma, from Play Therapy to Music Therapy for trauma. We can use Art Therapy for teens, DBT or CBT for anxiety treatment. But what these therapies bring to the table may not be helpful to struggling teens.
Maybe a teen suffering from anxiety would rather not talk about their experiences, which means DBT or CBT for anxiety won’t be an effective treatment. Instead, we will use EMDR to help the teen heal.
Or maybe a pair of traumatized teens would rather listen to songs during a session of Music Therapy for trauma instead of trying to be creative in a session of Art Therapy for teens.
Innova Mercy is here to help your teen win their struggles, heal from pain and trauma, and grow into great individuals. For more information about our therapies, contact us today. We are just one call and text away.
